Michael Casey is an award-winning Registered Horticulturist and green infrastructure expert, who is passionate about nature-based solutions for human health and wellbeing. He applies this knowledge to an impressive portfolio of urban greening projects in education, health, commercial, and residential sectors. Notably, he actively engages with children in the education sector, co-designing inclusive greenspaces that foster environmental education, student wellbeing and community connection. As a fierce advocate for nature-based solutions, Michael's leadership is evident through ongoing consulting roles, extensive training and speaking engagements, industry memberships, and prolific authorship in industry publications - all reflecting his commitment to creating sustainable and enriching environments that have a lasting positive impact.

Stella has been working with plants for over 7 years but admiring them her entire life. In 2022 she completed her Bachelor of Horticulture degree, majoring in green infrastructure design, at the University of Geisenheim, Germany. She is passionate about enhancing biodiversity within urban structures through green spaces. Whilst working at a wild plant nursery in Alzey, Germany, she was introduced to the concept of ‘wildlife garden’ in which plants are selected for their ecological value to support the fragile interdependencies of flora, fauna and surrounding ecosystems. Beyond the beauty of green spaces in urban areas, this particular idea forms an integral part of her approach towards green infrastructure. After moving to Australia, she has been concentrating on increasing her knowledge of Australian native plant communities with a focus on the Melbourne area. In the future, she wants to contribute to creating more pockets of habitat in and around Melbourne’s urban area.

Madison, an invaluable member of the Evergreen Infrastructure team, has a Graduate Diploma in Urban Horticulture under their belt. Madison is now pursuing a Master's Degree with a special focus on therapeutic landscape design and green infrastructure.

Having grown up on the doorstep of the Grampians (Gariwerd) National Park, Madison's profound appreciation for nature was nurtured from an early age. Their diverse background in psychology, disability, and youth work brings a unique perspective to the horticulture field, where they always consider the harmonious integration of people and place in urban greenspaces.

Madison's journey was inspired by the therapeutic benefits they observed in their mental health support work. Driven by a passion for facilitating well-being through the creation of high-quality urban green spaces, they embarked on a formal qualification in horticulture.

At the core of Madison's horticultural practice lies the 'one health' model, recognising the interconnectedness of environmental, ecological, and human health. This perspective fuels their enthusiasm for urban greening and biodiversity initiatives, green infrastructure, and ensuring equitable access to green spaces for all individuals.

Beyond their professional pursuits, Madison remains a keen outdoors person, finding respite in their courtyard vegetable garden, exploring new parks with their greyhound Basil, or embarking on invigorating hikes in any of Victoria's incredible national parks.

Passionate about all things plants and people, Madison is thrilled to be working in the horticulture field, continuously expanding their knowledge alongside some of the industry's finest innovators. Their dedication to creating healthier and more sustainable urban environments makes them a valuable asset to the Evergreen Infrastructure team.

For the past nine years, Taylor has immersed herself in the animal care sector, serving as a Veterinary Nurse and contributing as an admin and post-operative care assistant. Her dedication to nurturing and safeguarding animals has seamlessly transitioned into a new realm of nurturing. Recently, she joined the Evergreen Infrastructure team as a Horticultural Assistant. Taylor's expertise extends to our urban farming initiatives and nursery operations, where she diligently tends to plants for upcoming projects. In addition to her hands-on work, Taylor plays a vital role in managing some of our green infrastructure assets. Her presence enriches the collective knowledge of our team, ensuring the success of our greening endeavours on all fronts, benefitting both humans and animals alike.

Kieran is a dedicated Horticultural and Landscape Technician and a valued member of our green infrastructure team, with a strong passion for urban greening and sustainable landscapes. Since joining the team in 2018, he has developed extensive skills in tissue culture, propagation, transplanting, and plant establishment, combining his nursery industry experience with hands-on landscape construction. Kieran now applies this expertise to designing, installing, and maintaining green roofs, living walls, and biodiverse urban landscapes, helping projects deliver maximum ecological, social, and functional benefits. His technical knowledge, attention to detail, and commitment to creating high-performing green infrastructure solutions are recognised by both clients and peers. Kieran continues to grow professionally and is expected to take on increasing leadership responsibilities within the team, guiding projects from concept through to long-term success.
