The client aimed to transform a blank, hot, and uninviting space by emphasising sustainability and multi functionality. They envisioned a space that seamlessly blends the natural settings with their modern urban living, offering outdoor lounging, productive gardening, and a sense of tranquility amidst treetops, all while providing a stunning view of Melbourne.

The design ingeniously employs circles of varying sizes to transform a 100m² blank balcony into a dynamic oasis. Evolving into a natural green roof, it hosts a central tree, while a pergola with trellis provides shade. An outdoor lounge integrates productive fruit and vegetable areas, creating a multifunctional and inviting space for the residents.

About the project

The design aims to seamlessly merge urban living with nature, employing circles to craft a dynamic space. Transforming from a bare balcony to a verdant green roof, it incorporates productive gardening and relaxation areas. A central tree and pergola add focal points, fostering tranquility and connection between the residents and their family.
