Super Bloom in partnership with Heliotope Studio, Evergreen Infrastructure created an ambitious living laboratory that was housed within MIFGS for a one week horticultural display. This spectacular floral garden demonstrated that beauty and climate climate compatibility are not mutually exclusive. Plant Futures celebrated the beauty and luminosity of dry climate species, bringing a wonder that the public were able to wander through.

Form

The garden was cultivated especially for MIFGS with the process encompassing seed germination, plant cuttings and growing the plant communities in a purpose built raised modular system that celebrates the diversity and adaptability of the plants in collaboration with one another.

About the project

The garden was a wondrous showcase of blooming beauty, an immersive floral experience designed to delight and captivate visitors with the nature possible in our cities.

Impact

The immersive garden transported visitors into a floral wonderland, illuminating the diversity of planting and highlighting the tolerance, resilience and climate-forward adaptation that plants can bring when thoughtfully designed into our harsh urban spaces.
